Hi, I would like to be able to control the led on the frontpanel. I would like it to never blink, maybe an option to turn led off, and on. something along those lines

Seriously though, look at Hugo's last response at the bottom and I think you'll understand the Empeg team doesn't really want to touch this one. But they're certainly willing to let someone else do the work (and risk their Empeg's life, note the warning in his "how to" steps) and then contribute the source to the main baseline.

Never blink? That's easy.
Take your empeg player to pieces as described in the FAQ.
Cut off or de-soldier the LED.
Reassemble the player.

Heh, either that, or buy a piece of Click 'n Clack handy-dandy black tape.
I used black shrink tubing around mine to reduce the visible size of the LED so that it was not so obtrusive.

Hi.
Considering the famous black marker mod, I just used a black marker to make my LED less bright. Depending on the type of marker, you have to adjust the brightness either by the number of times you paint the LED (if the marker is not covering completely) or the size of the hole you left while painting it (if the marker eliminates 100% of the light where it is applied).
I used a marker of the second type and left a hole of about 0.5 mm in diameter (about 0.02 inch).
