Wendy Soup and/or booleans in advanced search - 25/06/2002 23:00

I wish I may, I wish I might, wish upon this feature tonight.

Wishlist: Booleans in advanced search
So I can do meaningful wendyflag searches.

or even better,

Wishlist: Search options based on Wendy Flags
and/or one Soup View per Wendy Flag.

Of course, when the feature is implemented to see Soup View playlists
on the player, I would prefer not to have the Wendy Soup Views appear.
(No point in giving Aunt Mildred easy access to the "Has profanity"
playlist.)

How do you mean "booleans in advanced search"? Do you mean on the player, or in emplode?

If you're talking about emplode, then it already has booleans. In which case, I think you mean bitwise operators.

At some point, we'll implement soup views so that they take a restriction, as well as ordering/grouping directives, so that you can do this.

I think the request is for individual Wendy flags as named boolean fields in search expressions. I don't think we've implemented that yet.

Ummm.... Whoops. Yes, I meant on emplode, and I meant "bitwise operators"
rather than "booleans." Looks like I had a little brain spasm there.

But having individual flags as named boolean fields sounds even better.
I.e., searching on "Ralph likes" rather than "(wendy & 0x2)!=0"
