Empeg buggin out

Empeg buggin out - 30/09/2002 13:27

Ok, I was waiting to pick up a friend and i loaded up pacman while listening to music. Got to the 3rd level and died, loaded it up again. This time i started playing pacman with the remote. About half way through the level, the empeg brought the track screen to the top, and then it started switching between aux in and the player app very quickly. Had to remove the empeg from the cage to correct the problem.

Now whenever i load up pacman, it will start switching between the player and aux in. I updated to the latest version of hijack. Any ideas?

The same problem gpsapp was having in another thread. I guess this lends credence to the "hijack interaction" theory.

Its a pretty weird problem. Hopefully somebody will take a look at it sometime in the future

Well, I have an idea for what to do, but I've only gotten it to happen one time ever, which isn't really conducive to debugging it.

I've been looking at the diffs between v293 and current, as I'm running 293 and definitely do not see this problem, but haven't noticed anything in particular yet.

At least I don't have to look at possible serial port interactions anymore, I can hardly believe empacman is using the serial port

So basicly if i downgrade hijack to 293 my problems will go away? I think i have a copy on my desktop of 293, maybe i'll give that a try.

Lastnight when i first noticed this problem, i was running 294, and i think the only change between 293 and 294 was the last empeg meet message. Maybe i'll still try and downgrade to 293 and see if i still see these problems.

Naah. This quirk appears in earlier versions of HJ too. The ioctls are still immature, and Mark has suggested that they will be reworked sometime once the climbing season is over...

Greetings!

Actually, it might not be a direct interaction. I have noticed this on my player as well, but I always wrote it off to too many mods (button hack, etc). Mine alternates between different sources (no tuner, so just player and aux). I am running hijack 291. Usually, I just hit the pause button to break the cycle.
