After a synch, playing a playlist...

After a synch, playing a playlist... - 20/01/2000 17:46

Is it my imagination, or does the Empeg always begin playing in the middle of a song immediately after a synch?

In beta 8c, every time a synch got done, the unit would begin playing in the middle of a song (albeit a completely different song than the one that was playing before the synch started).

Now, with beta 9a, the player comes up with nothing at all selected when a synch is complete, requiring you to pick a playlist before it'll play anything. (This, as I understand it, is by design.) But even when you pick a playlist, it begins playing in the middle of a song. Is that what's happening or is it my imagination? Can anyone reproduce this?

It's even mentioned in the release notes :)

It shouldn't do this. I can't reproduce it.

Well, I can't reproduce it now, either. But I could have sworn I saw it happen once with 9a.

I know for sure that it was happening in 8c, but that's because it kept playing after a synch.

Oh well, must have been my imagination. Or all that LDS I did in the sixties...

Apparently it must have affected more than just your imagination.......

Mr. Jeep, that was a direct reference to a line in a movie. It was misspelled on purpose. Obviously, you're not a Trekkie.

After i re-sync on Beta 9a , it doesn't have a song..

it has the generic words .. Track Name (Name of Track) ...

try to change the visualizations at that point and you will crash hard

Mine comes up with the "Track Name (Name of Track) scrolling in the big thumping visual after synching with 9a. It frequently comes up in pause mode too. Emplode has been behaving recently so I don't want to change anything.

Although Emplode doesn't like another program launching when it is synching. I did it once accidently. Emplode bombed; failed the synch; lost a new playlist, but dumped most of the newly upload tracks into the "unattached items" playlist.

Mark
