Steering wheel remotes and Beta 9b - 08/02/2000 02:53

I've got one of the kenwood steering wheel remotes (KCA-RC700), and after the upgrade to Beta 9b, the Att button no longer acts as Play / Pause.
The src button still works as source select (But I don't use that =)

Has the remote handling changed in 9b?

I just got an Email back from John at Empeg saying it would be fixed in 9c, due out "real soon now". I'm continually impressed with Empeg Ltd's customer service. Thanks, John.

Enlighten me on the steering wheel remote, please. The credit-card remote drives me nuts due to its lack of contouring -- so I use the console buttons -- which severely cripples rapid handling of the unit in traffic.

The unit I have has 8 buttons on it and it fits on the rear of the wheel on the right.
The buttons are
  • vol up/down
  • track up/down
  • within track fast forward/rewind
  • Source select (Which I don't use at all)
  • Play or Pause (The button which was broken, but is now fixed)

Hopefully we will have the option to reconfigure the buttons at some point, as I don't use the source button or volume control (I use my JVC MD/CD for that), and those buttons could work the menus instead..
(You still have to use the full remote, or front buttons to work the menus, but once you've selected a playlist, there's no real problem.. =)
