Can't sort while in root playlist.

See pic. When any of the playlists are selected, I can't reposition them within the view except by using the Auto-Sort button (notice how the Up and Down arrows can't be selected). I thought maybe this was a bug related to there being only playlists and no "tunes" to sort, but in my "Artists" playlist, there exist only other playlists (no tunes) but the "Up" and "Down" arrows do work.

Yeah, this has been there for most of 2.0. You can't use the up and down arrows in the root playlist. It's actually deliberate, it prevents a strange bug that caused Emplode to crash if you hit the up arrow in a certain situation.

You can Alt+Drag and that works. But it's a bit of a pain because if you've got more than one screenful, you have to do it in stages.

Ah... that sounds faintly familiar. I thought I had read that somewhere and re-read the release notes a few times to see if it was listed as a known bug. It's quite livable, I just posted it for 3.00 development.

Personally, I'd rather see those arrows re-enabled and the underlying bug fixed more elegantly. Each time I add a new artist, I have to re-order the artist up higher in the list, often having to traverse multiple screenfuls (each screen is a separate drag operation because it won't auto-scroll the right hand pane when I drag to the top). So I agree its current behavior is non-optimal and I, too, would like to see it changed someday.

I remember entering that one as a bug a long time ago, actually. I think what happened is that it got fixed for the left hand pane but not the right. Or fixed for keyboard but not for mouse. Or something like that...

How do you drag with the keyboard?

I meant, when you have something in the right pane highlighted, and you use the up and down arrows to move the highlight point.

Ah. Did it do something like move the selection into the not currently visible part of the scrolling pane? Neat.

I don't know whether this helps: I didn't have this bug, but yesterday I re-organised my playlists and, for the first time, implemented Wendy filters, and for some reason, it's given me this bug.
