Upgrade Problem - 28/06/2000 07:46

have just downloaded the Beta 11a upgrade and am getting the error message:
Error "Upgrade file corrupt" occurred during stage 0x00
on an NT box.

Have already installed the newest version of emplode, and would really like to be able to install the newest player software. Any ideas?

Sounds like the download has been corrupted, as it worked OK for me about 1/2 an hour ago. I did note that the consumer image does not autodownload - I had to do a rightclick/save as.. from my browser.

Alternatively, you could force an FTP download.

I guess you're using Netscape.. we've requested that our web hosts update their MIME file types so that a .upgrade is recognised as binary, not text, but they haven't complied yet.

In the mean time, if you have access to a machine with IE that should download the file correctly.

Thanks very much guys. Peter (empeg) was quick off the mark and also suggested that I use IE (ugh!!) and the upgrade file came over OK this time. Hopefully empegs webhost will also be quick with changing the mime types so that we don't have to resort to using M$ software the whole time ;-)

Anyone in Germany/Europe want to buy a Mk 1? The Mk 2 gets more and more tempting every day ....
