Rotary knob not showing "Volume: ?.?dB (fixed)"

If the volume is fixed (in home mode) upon pressing volume up or down on the remote shows the popup Volume: 0.0dB (fixed) (in my case) though turning the rotary knob doesn't have the same effect.
