My Empeg player didn't correct for daylight saving time.
All my other linux machines did :-)

Same here.

Also, I needed to press DIRECT OK on the kenwood remote before it took my corrections to the time screen. DNPP wasn't enough. Is that by design?

Mine did, but it was connected to the computer when it did it.

No DST feature. What a crock of sh*t.

It would be nice though. I have never seen another car stereo do that!
