I've been going through my empegs trying to get them all working. I have one that seems to just have a dead display. All I get is a blinking LED above the knob and nothing else. It's been so long since I've done anything with them I don't remember how to troubleshoot. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to revive it?

Edit: It also doesn't show up on the network, and I don't have (can't find) a serial cable to test that, yet.

PS: Hello. Hi. Hello. It's been forever since I've posted here.

Hi.

First candidate would be a blown fuse. There are a few tiny surface mounted fuses near where the display ribbon cable plugs into the mainboard. It is very common for one of those fuses to blow as a result of plugging in a cable off-by-one-pin. We've just about all done it at some point.

Stick an ohm-meter across each of them in turn. Whichever one does NOT show zero-resistance is the blown one.

Cheers
