Cambs Car Audio will be doing an install for me soon, but there's one aspect they can't help with. I need to source an in car mixer so I can connect..

- Empeg
- Sat Nav
- Hands Free Kit
- iPod Jack

..all mixed in to the master. I realise some of those sources won't be at line level but that's easy to fix. What isn't easy is finding a suitable mixer! I've seen them in show cars but I can't find a source - any ideas?

Thanks!

Rob

If you can't find a commercial one, you of all people should have the resources at your disposal to build a line-level resistance mixer.

I think there's even a post here on the BBS somewhere with the schematic...

My first thought when reading the post title "In car mixer" under the "ICE" topic was mobile-margaritas!

But we all know the rule: Drinking and Driving- Don't Mix!
(it takes your attention away from the road)

Yes, in fact we have some mixers at Alesis which can run on 12V, however in this case I'm looking for something packaged appropriately for the application. The ones I've seen bolt into the DIN bays in the trunk where the DVD or CD Changer would normally go, and have rotary faders to set the levels. I guess I could hack something together but I don't have much time at the moment

That's getting close, and in fact other products at that site are closer. However, none of them quite do what I'm looking for - a 4 channel stereo mixer. It doesn't seem like such a lot to ask for but nodody seems to make them! The closest I've got:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=31137&criteria=mixer&doy=21m2

However that seems designed for Mic inputs, and the SNR is terrible.

I'm going to have to make my own :-(

And there was much rejoicing.

Or..for a cheaper solution without the bells and whistles there's this:

Great minds think alike - I ordered the ART mixer yesterday. It has the added advantage of being available from UK dealers.

B****r, I wish I'd picked up on this thread earlier, I've got the Maplin one sitting on a shelf, surplus to requirements - I got no takers on ebay!

Nope, mine's not in the current catalogue, it's 12v D.C., 3 stereo line + 1 Mic., line out + headphone.
