Hi everyone, My Empeg's new home is almost ready! I've attached a pic of her for those who like this kind of thing.

Sweet. It's even the correct color! Can't wait to see it all finished.

...almost ready...

Yes, but it's still an old car. Gosh, for the kind of money and time you've spent, you could have had a brand new Corolla or Daewoo. (Juusssst kidding... )

It looks really nice, and I'll bet it sounds good too -- whether or not the empeg is playing! I know how you are feeling -- my Porsche is going back out on the road in a week or two, after an embarassingly long hiatus.

What did you decide on the 10" vs 6" subs?

Gosh, for the kind of money and time you've spent, you could have had a brand new Corolla or Daewoo. (Juusssst kidding... ) Arggh! The thing is, a lot of people do. And what are they left with in 5 years time? A dated looking car worth about £500. Meanwhile, my V8's worth more than I spent and I am still beating modern cars away from the lights! : ) What did you decide on the 10" vs 6" subs I'm waiting to get the empeg/amp/comps fitted before I decide on my subs. If there's any way I can go with the baby subs without it being too much of a compromise in sound though, I will. I've decided to install the mids in the 'stock' kickpanel location, rather than having pods built out. I know the pods sound amazing, but I'm trying to strike the balance between great audio and keeping the car looking like a classic. The interior is not quite finished (console and floor carpet still to come) but on the pic I've attached you can just about see where the speakers are, on the driver's side kick panel. We sprayed the Diamond Audio grilles to match the leather trim panel - it's a great disguise. No one's gonna see those and think they're worth pulling out. The tweeters will probably go right in front of the mids - I've heard them here and they sound good.

Gimme a V8 cobra anyday :)

I read of an 8 litre turbocharged nitrous madskillz cobra replica, 1200bhp/ton or something crazy, 0-60 in like 2 seconds. Only problem is youd have better handling throwing a brick..

Still, i want.

Car's looking nice. Be good to see the empeg installed. Like the pic that comes up under your name. Did you do that yourself?

No, the cartoon is from a web site. Somebody draws pics like that of most types of cars. I can't remember the URL though.

Those cartoons can be bought (as prints) at just about any British seaside resort - they seem to run little franchised stalls. I bought the Mercedes A Class cartoon at Paignton a couple of years ago intending to recolour it and add some empeg logos for the geek site, but I never got around to scanning it.
