Has anyone else noticed that riocar.org is down? Not sure who owns it, is it dead?

I have been slowly building up a set of archives of the various sites and files related to the empegs, as the content is slowly falling off the web - was thinking I'd put together a torrent of it all eventually so that we can all have all the files etc.

Ah great, thanks for that. +1 for getting a static cut somehow!

After the panic I felt when I found out that riocar.org was offline, I decided to make a repo (empeg-all) for all the known documentation, source code and binaries.

The riocar.org site is back up (yay), but is backed up there; we can't loose the FAQs, and drive and geek guides! I'm still working on enriching the collection, but the basics are all in it:

https://github.com/thetoolman/empeg-all

Contributions welcomed.

Neat idea.

home.html has some details about a specific site only? Not sure what you want to do there.

I created a pull request for rtr.ca stuff.

Mark, I assume based on your post, you are good with mirroring this to github?

the home.html is the default content for the iframe, and I was thinking of maybe makings links but organised via tools? Still not sure really, I know its just got some chaff on it ATM..

Good point re: mirroring; I'm happy to remove anything if people want me to, although I am hopeful the contributors will understand the value in this complete(*) cache.

I have polished the home.html page a bit, and continued adding the stuff I have found. Hopefully the plan is more obvious once you "git pull"..

I would feel even better about it if a non-Microsoft site were used.
But okay for now.

Really? Is it your content?

Care to indicate why?

What about other mirror sites that contain copies?

Faolan claims that the riocar site and all its content is their copyright, so I have removed it while I discuss with them about their concerns.

Nobody mention https://web.archive.org/web/20190105030055/http://www.riocar.org/ please.

Does anyone have contact with @wfaulk and/or @SE_Sport_Driver users? Not sure if they loiter here, but I'm hoping they might be able to supply some of their content that I cant find elsewhere:

https://github.com/thetoolman/empeg-all/issues/8 and https://github.com/thetoolman/empeg-all/issues/7 respectively.

I have been asked by Faolan to completely remove riocar.org content, as a deletion commit wasn't satisfactory. Because if this, the git history in the repo has been re-written. If you have cloned this repo prior, you'll want to delete and re-clone the new history set, to avoid any issues around the history changes.
