If you mean the '4' button from Hijack, then it's just a "one touch" access for the "countdown timer" functions found on the main Hijack menu (press and hold knob until menu appears, then scroll to the "countdown timer" menu entries).

Basically these are used to automatically turn the player on or off, or to trigger an alarm ("beep!") -- can be used as a one-shot alarm clock, or sleep timer.

Cheers

Not sure, but I think you have to set something in the "Countdown Timer Action" menu in Hijack.

"Toggle Standby" is another name for "Power Off". Did you try that?

Re: Quicktimer - 26/09/2002 10:31

Everyone else please note that this display is HH:MM not MM:SS (H=Hours, M=Minutes, S=Seconds). That confused me for a bit & I thought it wasn't working.

Re: Quicktimer - 26/09/2002 11:28

Surely it should be called "Mode Execute Ready" ?

Re: Quicktimer - 27/09/2002 02:49

I thought it was mode function execute - we're both talking about the HHTTG, yeah? (I could be wrong, it's been ages since I read it).
