Hmmm. I'll be in Philadelphia for something through the evening of the second, so this might work out nicely.

Re: New York Meet Details - 09/03/2003 12:34

Hahaha.

Sorry, minor chuckle. Even the New York empeg meet is hosted in New Jersey...

Re: New York Meet Details - 09/03/2003 12:39

Yes, New Jersey is the best.

Anyway.... I figured this was a good place since the parking lot is a good size and shouldn't be packed on a Sunday afternoon. They also happen to have awsome steaks and sell 1-litre mugs of beer (Yuengling on tap no less!).

Re: New York Meet Details - 09/03/2003 15:38

Mm... looks interesting.

If I can make it, I'll be camping/climbing at the Gunks most likely.

Any other rock-climbers attending?

Cheers

If (by the off-chance) anyone is flying in, let me know if you need a pickup at an airport. SWF, LGA, JFK, and EWR are all doable.

Re: New York Meet Details - 09/03/2003 18:13

empeg owners just love to drive... I'm thinking it over myself.

Re: New York Meet Details - 09/03/2003 18:21

Hmmm. Looks like Emerson has rail service, but not on Sunday. That's sort of a shame, since it means I'll end up driving instead of training to Philly. Of course it's possible I would have anyhow.

Isn't May 3rd on a Saturday, or did I miss something?

Re: New York Meet Details - 20/03/2003 11:46

I'll try to make it. I'm going WW rafting some weekend in may and I forget which weekend.

I'll be in the finger lakes region 2 weeks later for a TT meet - if there are any other Empeg equipped TT owners in the (eastern) US - let me know.

If there is a run, let me know. I would like to get the route or possibly tag along.

Re: New York Meet Details - 21/03/2003 13:07

TT-East is going to be a blast. My first car rally - I think I am taking my geek dome to a new level. Canandaigua is only 40 minutes from where I live, but that’s too far to drive after the parties. We am staying at Belhurst castle . Bonus point with the girlfriend.

Let me know how to get in touch with you and we can compare Empeg & TT mods. You can get my email or AOL-IM off my profile here.

Re: New York Meet Details - 21/03/2003 13:26

That event is $160? That seems like a bit much for an event that includes nothing but meals.

The SAAB events are much better (especially the ones that my club organizes). The NYSOC events are always free and made for aggressive driving. Saabtoberfest costs money, but it's only about $15 with lunch inluded. Any event that costs more than that usually involves some dyno runs, autocross, and/or a car show.

Last weekend, we (NYSOC) started planning the Can/Am run. Starting in Lake George, we go through Vermont up the Champlain Islands up to Canada. Then we drive on local roads to Montreal and stop for the night. Next day we head over to Ottawa and then enter back into NY from there. The run is hella nice and free. You just have to pay for a hotel (we are negotiating a group rate) and a couple meals.

Re: New York Meet Details - 21/03/2003 23:35

i'll be there. How much will it cost? Do we have to pre-pay? If we sign up on riocar.org, will we be notified via email of updates for the event?
Posted by: robricc

Re: New York Meet Details - 22/03/2003 15:28

You will pay for whatever you eat or drink.... or we will split it evenly. I'm not sure, but there will be no pre-payment. All updates on the event will definitely be posted here. I will look into how I would be able to send out emails to everyone registered though.

bump.
Let me just say I'm thrilled about this meet. It's so close to where I am (I pass by that way all the time, actually). Thanks to all for getting it together. I'd better see my favorite empeggers there. Anyone with a Volvo gonna be there?! Looking forward to it!!

I will see if I can get the quiz from the Cincinnati meet which was borrowed from the 2002 European Meet. It was a pretty tough one. I won by the way.

Re: New York Meet Details - 07/04/2003 18:35

Hmmm. Looks now like there's at least a possibility I'll be late, since I expect to be at the Amtrak CETC Center and then the Acela maintenance facility starting sometime in the morning. Of course we may not be there as long as I expect, and I may be there right on time

Re: New York Meet Details - 07/04/2003 18:39

Awesome.

I have the quiz from the Cincinnati meet and plan on using them. I guess you're disqualified though.

Yeah, I think I remember a bunch of the answers, so that wouldn't be fair.

Re: Group Photo - 08/04/2003 18:08

I think a good idea for a group photo is for everyone to hold their empeg up while we snap the shot. So everyone should bring their empeg into Arthur's so we can get a classic shot after dinner. That sounds cheezy, doesn't it?
