Empeg Support - 22/04/2003 08:35

How long does it normally take for tech support for the empeg to get back to you? At least to acknowledged they have received your e-mail?

Re: Empeg Support - 22/04/2003 08:47

I'm not trying to be a snot or anything, but it will probably take a long time. One of my friend's empegs has been in NL for months.

I am sure Rob S. has reveived your message. He is just a person that has a life outside of fixing empegs. He will get to it.

Should we expect any kind of reply? I e-mailed tech support about 3 weeks ago, and I haven't even received a confirmation that they received my e-mail. Guess its time to send again.. I understand that they have other things going on, I would just like to know if they had taken a look at my e-mail...

Empeg support is not being handled by anyone that formally works for empeg or Sonic Blue. It is being run entirely by Rob Schofield.

I would imagine he will eventually get back to you. All emails I have sent (about 5) have been answered eventually.

If your issue is something that someone else on the BBS can fix and your player is out of warranty anyway, going that route might be an option.

I hope I'm not talking out of turn by saying it, Rob can speak for himself, but you don't have to go too far on this BBS to see that the guy's had and is having problems, personally.
Empeg support has traditionally been unique - better than world class - reflecting on this, this is a good time to allow a bit of leeway, whilst things get back on track, in which I'm sure that we all wish him well.

Robricc has mentioned the extraordinary amount of advice that you will get on this BBS, to which I would only add Tony's FAQ that stands alone in its quality and thoroughness.

Why not check them out, and if you're still stuck, make a fresh posting outlining your problem? I've always got a comprehensive response, much valued for somebody completely computer illiterate!

(Short & sweet) Yes.

Indirectly, yes. You need to send email to the address listed here, which forwards to Rob.

Re: Empeg Support - 23/04/2003 14:32

Also please note that you will have to send in your faulty cable to support or you will get charged for the replacement. But don't worry, you can send in your cable AFTER you receive the replacement.

Done, thanks tony. I wasn't sure if Sonicblue's status change had rendered that address inoperable (I saw one post talking about an old suport at empeg point com address)

Re: Empeg Support - 23/04/2003 15:01

Yeah, it was mentioned by Rob V of Empeg that it might be better to use the [email protected] address since they themselves didn't know how long those @sonicblue.com addresses would continue to exist.

Re: Empeg Support - 23/04/2003 15:05

Interesting, I didn't think that old address was around any more.

Anyone in Cambridge: Should I change the address in the FAQ?

Re: Empeg Support - 23/04/2003 19:16

I would imagine both the sonicblue and empeg addresses will continue to work for the foreseeable future, but as empeg.com is under our control it's more likely to permanantly forward to somewhere sensible.

We won't know until after the D&M deal closes exactly what the support set up will be in future. We have plans for most contingencies which should keep everyone happy.
