Help! Test my webserver?

Help! Test my webserver? - 26/04/2003 08:54

Could a couple of people try to access my server at the address below, and let me know if it is responding or not..:

http://rtr.ca/docks/

Post your results here. As soon as somebody sees it working, there's no need for others to try. Same deal if 10 or more report total failure.

Thanks

Re: Help! Test my webserver? - 26/04/2003 09:09

Mmm.. try again -- quit your browser first, and then restart it, just to negate local cache effects. How slow?

The problem here is, I'm in a different city, connected at medium speed (1mb/s) viat the same (non-)service provider, and last night they appear to have slapped a block on internal port 80 accesses (http).

So I can get to my server when I have it listen on any port other than 80, but I'm wondering about the "outside world".

A few more responses here would help, I guess.

Thanks guys!

the site is really quick, it just took a few seconds for my dns servers to find your server.

Re: Help! Test my webserver? - 26/04/2003 09:28

MMmm... interesting. The other failure I've noticed this morning is that my ISP's own DNS does not do lookups for my domain. Outside DNS does them, though, and that port (53) is not blocked or anything.

Okay, I suppose it's "fine" for now, even if I cannot get to it myself on port 80 from here.

Thanks crew!

I hope this is all temporary or something, but I really suspect the worst from these clowns.

It may finally be time to bid farewell to my 2.2/1.1 mb/sec line, and go with a more transparent provider. Ugh.

Cheers

It comes up ok here on Cape Cod, but ever so slowly.
I'm on Comcast broadband New England.

Re: Help! Test my webserver? - 26/04/2003 09:42

it's ok from South Africa. Which is odd, cos since my firewall got hacked, i've not been able to get to your site when using my firewall (and even sometimes not using it).

Was rather fast as well.
