NY meet

Just wondering if the NY owners meet set for this coming Sunday is still going on. If so, how many people are expected? I've been out of the loop for a couple weeks but a quick search on the topic produced no new info.

I've got myself plus 1 friend (another empeg owner) lined up to make the short drive up to NY.

NY Meet is still on. It looks like about 20 are signed up. I would expect the number to stay around that amount. Some people will not show up and I know others will come without signing up.

I will get there around 2:30 so hopefully I will be the first to arrive.

I'm signed up...I'm going to try to make it, but as time goes on it looks like I very well might miss it after all. I was looking forward to it though.

Last week, the transmission in my car went out, and it's currently in the shop. I don't have high hopes that they'll be finished with it in the next couple of days.

Hey all, I've been totally dormant on this board for far too long (coming home to 2,548 new posts in General can be kinda scary). My attendance at the meet was threatened for a while (though I had the meet on my books since Rob first mentioned the potential back in... October '02?) but I'm now back on to be there. Me and my VOLVO WAGON will represent in full glory. I'll hopefully have my fake stock faceplate job done by then, if I can get my installer to recess my Alpine deck 1.5 inches into the dash.

At the Ohio meet there was an ad hoc wireless network with shared dialup internet going within an hour or so after I got there. About 5 laptops or so joined in the fun.

Hey, I might need it! I've been using 1.03 stock, waiting for 2.0 final. Now that it's here, I NEED it (I guess). If ya'll want to help me with 2.0final, hijack, games, and all that other fun stuff, that'd be a blast! See you all there.

Meet is tomorrow

Just giving this thread a slight bump.

Tomorrow looks like it's going to be a nice day. There are about 13 BBSers signed up for the meet. Between their guests and people I know are coming that are not on the BBS or signed up, it seems we could get 25 people tomorrow!

We're looking to meet at 3PM as scheduled in the parking lot of Arthur's Tavern in Emerson, NJ. I should be there early to greet everyone. In case I'm not there and someone wants to check-in with the restaurant, the party is listed under "Robert".

I have the trivia questions printing out, but the prize will be pride since I have no tangible prizes to give out.

If anyone would like to have my cell phone number in case you get lost, send me a PM.

We started at 3 and left at 7. 4 hours of empeg fun!

Yeah, and thanks to Rob for putting it together. It was good to see all you guys and gals and all your rigs. Ha, and now that I've heard how good all your cars sound, I'll have to get some good speakers and a real amp. And thanks for the 2.0final + HiJack upgrade. Now I just have to figure out how to use it. See my panic/rant in General. See ya'll at the next meat. I mean, meet. Sorry, that was a freudian-steak-slip. Mmmmm, steak.

Regarding your woes with 2.0, I'm glad I could...help? I'm sorry it didn't work out to be as smooth a transistion as you were hoping for. Hopefully you'll love it, once you get the kinks worked out and find everything you need.

It was great meeting everyone. I look forward to doing it again sometime.

Sorry I missed it. I ended up getting out of 30th Street Station later than I thought, backtracking to Essington for my car, and after making a stop, playing games on the Surekill and in Fairmount Park it had gotten late enough that I figured I should go home and deal with a work problem that came up.

Stupid work.

Rob - Thanks for organising the meet, and also for supplying the CD opener as a prize, now I'm going to have to go and buy some CDs to test it on

It was great meeting everyone who turned up, although as usual, it was too short for me to remember everyone's name or BBS handle! (I'm crap with that - apologies to you all). The steak and beer was superb. It was somewhat amusing hearing the time announced loudly every few minutes in the car park - ironic that I then then somehow lost track of an hour later on the afternoon

Now just who was it that had that milling machine in their basement?

Well, I'm pissed (literally), and also that I didn't make it down for the meet (and climbing!). Oh well. We'll all have to meet up in Amersfoort instead.
