Amersfoort - Statistics - 07/07/2003 16:42

Some interesting statistics for the Amersfoort meet:

Total attendees: 49
Number of Fourth-time attendees: 4

Total number of beers drunk in 3/4 hour at the brewery (Friday) - 86 (28 people), approx. 2 beers/min.
Total number of beers drunk at the bar in the restaurant, before and after the meal - 148
Bottles of wine drunk with the meal - 17 (the most expensive wine in the Known Universe)
Number of Racks of pork ribs eaten - 86 (unevenly distributed across 21 rib eaters)
Number of silly toasts made at the restaurant during the meal - at least three (I think)
Sub orbital height reached by Rob S when he read the restaurant bill - approx. 22 km prior to heart failure (The Restaurant Bill From Hell)

Temperature reached in meeting room after lunch (on chilly day) - approx. 27 deg. C.
Number of new empeg owners - 1 (but he's happy enough for 10)

Amount of beer drunk at barbecue in just under 9 hours - 50 litres (approx. 25cl/glass) - barrel runs dry for second year running! Yay!
Amount of meat eaten before cooking stopped - nearly 12 kg (120 pieces). Remaining 30 pieces (2 kg) consumed next day.
Number of Sate sticks eaten - all of them, all 50!
Amount of bread eaten - 10 large French sticks, 60 hambuger buns, 3 loaves of bread
Amount of soft drinks, juice and other drinks - approx. 19 litres
Amount of red, white and rose wine drunk - 14 bottles (at about a 1/4 of the price paid at the restaurant)
Amount of other food - 3 salads, 3 pans of rice, 2 quiches (mainly eaten by the women, apparently!), 1 pan of spicy peanut sate sauce, 2 cheesecakes (by special request of Paul), 5 large bags of crisps, 4 kg of cheese, 2 large fruit salads made from bananas, strawberries, pineapples and other delicious things, 2 litres milk.

Number of empegs repaired during barbecue while pissed - 9
Number repaired the next day - 3
Number upgraded to V3 A3 - 11
Number of Nath's mini empeg player models (with remotes) sold: 9 (including special "NewFace" version for Alvin)

Number of irate neighbours complaining at 3:30 AM - at least one, we couldn't hear anyone else for the noise

Estimated expenditure during the weekend to businesses in Amersfoort - E 8,900 (based on just my knowledge of various expenditures - in reality, much higher due to the private expenditure made by attendees). Not included in this statistic - cost of travel to all participants attending (unknown).

Most amazing statistic of the weekend - we only broke one beer glass, and before you ask - No, I didn't put it in the Dishwasher

Re: Amersfoort - Statistics - 07/07/2003 17:34

Well, if anyone's interested, I can get him to make them for you and post them out to you. You can have either Mk1 (with Kenwood remote) or Mk2/Rio with Rio remote. Alvin's polished NewFace Mk2 was remarkably accurate, complete with black alloy knob! He does the lense in the correct colour and they are made to your order. 50 cents each, plus postage?

They are about 1.5 cm square, and 3 mm thick. The remote is about 4 mm square.

50 cents each,

Fifty cents? A whole half dollar? My God! Talk about capitalism run amok. I refuse to support such blatant profiteering. Imagine, getting filthy rich off of a captive audience of empeg owners. For shame!

Number upgraded to V3 A3 - 11

So when do the rest of us plebs get a go at 3.00a3 (or b1 as the case may be)?

It's discrimination by country of origin I say... Just because I live on the so-called wrong side of the world I can't get the best software

But seriously is v3 any good? I'm really waiting for OGG support.

Re: Amersfoort - Statistics - 08/07/2003 02:24

So be patient, the first beta will go public....
Ogg's in there, but i have no ogg-files to test.

cheers, Thomas

I would imagine a slight bow is all you can manage, more and your head would fall off

Greetings from a BT Internet teminal in Holyhead (waiting for the ferry to Dublin and I had to blow some coins on this experiment)

Rob, thanks ever so much. Let your head swell a bit. What a great time. It was particularly nice to meet all those Australian guys.

Oh, and Gooberhead, I hope we meet again. The sex was fantastic!

Amersfoort -- Photos! - 21/07/2003 20:15

Here's my pics from the Amersfoort meet weekend.

Not all are captioned yet, but I'm on the road again this week and will get to them eventually. Try to not overly overload my puny ADSL line..

Cheers

Great pictures! It's funny how many things we photographed that were the same. For example, we both took pictures of the hothouses on the way from the ferry. Of course, your pictures are better than mine...

I'll have mine up pretty soon.

I would say, from my immense stock of trivia, that that's a Thames barge that's found a new home.

Hey, that very first photo (All Saints' Passage) was taken right outside the set of college rooms I lived in in my third year! The window in the very top left corner was my bedroom window...
