can't find player

To make a long story short, when running emlode the little flashlight just keeps waving back and forth as the program cannot find the player...the network connections works fine...but why won't Emplode locate the player?

First off, you havn't enabled the hijack option to block emplode, right? No firewalls? By "works fine" do you mean that you can ping your empeg over the network?

On the player, pop up "About" and find the ip address. Then run a telnet client on your Windows box and telnet to that IP address, port 8300. What happens? If it fails, tell us the IP address. If it succeeds, tell emplode the IP address.

The long story is that my darling daughter unplugged the ethernet cable in the middle of a sync..with new music...and made a mess of things

had to FSCD the discs then rebuild the database via Hyperterminal...


so far so good...in the middle of re-syncing..so all should be fine!

damn, first thing that popped into my head when reading the subject was a visual of a dirty bedroom with clothes everywhere and ed yelling "where the *1!@$ is my player!"
