3000 Users - 21/04/2004 00:38

I see we've finally passed the 3000 user mark.

I've only been here for about 3.5 years. Any of the more long-term folks wanna contribute some stats:

- How long has the board been around?
- How many of the 3000 users are active?
- What user number am I? (I don't know how to find out)
- Who is number 3000? (I saw 2999 a couple days ago and 3001 today, but missed 3000... d'oh)
- Bets on when we'll see 4000?

Well, I've been around for a while too (I see I joined about the same time as you - 4 years this August! Woo!), but I'm not sure about some of the stats. I can tell you a couple, though:

- going by when PaulH has himself registered, I'm guessing the board started on about May 19th 1999
- depends on your definition of active. I'd guess there are a whole lot more lurkers than posters, but that most of them are registered.
- I'm not sure how to tell what number you are
- the 3000th user appears to be auser
- 4000 users isn't inconceivable, particularly since we now include the Karma forum, so there may be new users drawn to that

Actually, kinda looks like one of the smartey-men from Kraftwerk. Bright looking child, right there.

But yeah, party for the BBS's birthdays. But who's PaulH? Is that Drakkino? And does Drakkino know when the board really started?

PaulH I believe brought the boards online, then invited the empeg folks to join. 6/08/99 was the dateempeg newsletter 8 came out announcing the board, hence the flood of new users, including myself. From there, the board got popular enough, and enough posts to start showing up in search engines, and also got hits from the empeg.com link.

Should those maybe say "Posts in the last..."?

PaulH started the board, and Drakino took it over.

Can we have those stats minus the tfabris count? Just to see the performance of average users without the tfabrisreplybot.

Re: 3000 Users - 23/04/2004 21:10

Well, let's see then, Tony has 20282 posts, and the number of topics plus replies equals 211556, so very nearly 10% of all the posts on the board have been Tony's.

Attention whore.
