Maybe new FAQ amendment? - 21/06/2004 01:48

Just solved a "hard disk not found" error not covered in the FAQ. After testing each drive separately, I found that the jumper I used for the second harddrive had wiggeled so loose, it didn't make a good connection anymore (it had been runnning fine for about 6 months). Lacking a proper, tight jumper, I soldered the two pins together. Worked like a charm.
So maybe add "check proper jumper connectivity" into the "hard disk not found" FAQ entry?

It does really here

It says in the second line

It could be a bad hard disk, but it could be something as simple as a loose/faulty IDE cable, a dry solder joint on the IDE connector, or a loose master/slave jumper. Most instances of this problem have been traced down to a problem with the cable or the IDE connector.

Ouch! Should've re-read it to make sure!
That's what I get for thinking I could find something not in the omniscient FAQ tome!
