Empeg Army - 02/09/2000 06:47

Welp; with the bcklog almost clearning, empeg needs to remember that they have a dedication army of empeg lovers here who would love to do anything short of going door to door to demo our empeg's... Just give us a few spiffy brochures, and I'm sure many of us would be happy to speak with our local car-chops (err..car-shops) about this nifty little unit...

Door-to-door marketing isn't really my idea of a good time, but I think a good number of EMPEG owners would be interested in investing in EMPEG. Given the chance to purchase pre-IPO shares, I'd gladly buy a piece of the company that makes my favorite toy.

I'd gladly buy a piece of the company . .

Well, beware if what you are getting into. There is mention of investment possibilities in empeg ltd on their site, but as I remember, they're only interested in significant investments

Greetings!

I would be interested in both - the sales materials to show to people who are impressed by the empeg, and
if stock was ever made available on a public level.

Given they are private, small and founder-operated now, that is understandable. I wonder just how significant they have in mind...

Bureaucratically, I'm sure EMPEG is not set up to have a couple thousand small shareholders, many of whom wouldn't really understand what it means to own shares in a company that isn't publicly traded. Thinking out loud, let's assume EMPEG does go public (as opposed to being acquired). It's reasonably common for companies to offer "friends" the opportunity to purchase shares at the IPO price. Owners of the MarkI and II could be candidates for such a deal as long as there aren't a huge number of them. We'll have to see.

I think just having printable "demosheets" would be a good start... That way, when one of my frineds (who might not necessarily be computer savy) asks about it, I can just hand them a cheat sheet on it:)

I think a handful of brochures- exactly the right size to fit in the Empeg carry case's front pocket- would be a great thing to include in each shipment of an Empeg or a carry case. At one point, Rob said he had some leftover Mk1 brochures. Are there any new ones now?

One of our customers (who fitted my Empeg) has been playing with my empeg player and wants to be a reseller, he says the sound quality is amazing. They spent most of Saturday morning testing it on different amps....

First place I am heading is to my local Alpine dealer to show him how much more better my Empeg is than my CVA-1005.

I have a CVA-1005 also. It's apples and oranges man. The Alpine is not an MP3 player and the empeg is not a video capable head unit with a video screen. I use them both and think both are technological marvels.

Rob sent me a truckload a while back, and I dropped a cartload locally for people to pick up at various local accessory shops and Audio specialists.
Every single brochure went within a couple of days - so is anyone reading this list as a result of picking up one of the empeg brochures around the Amerfoort area in NL?

Interesting idea. You're basically suggesting the possibility that empeg stereos can be used as options contracts. (e.g. purchasing an empeg now may secure the right to purchase shares at some point later for a reasonable price ;) I'm not sure how legal that is, but it would surely sell a lot of empegs!!
