RCA Vs Spdif, optical ?

Real quick need to know how wide and tall the empeg face plate is the God of radio installs thinks he can squese a empeg and a alpine headunit into my dash ? and I don't have an Empeg to measure ?

I am going to run the output from the empeg into the aux input on the alpine, do you think I would get better sound if I addedd a optical out from the empeg and ran that into the alpine or just use the rca's

2 3/16" x 7 5/16" (sorry, no metric measure was handy).

Probably depends on what's in the Alpine unit. You'd definately eliminate the risk for ground loop whine though - but proper wiring should handle that anyway. I'd try it with just the RCAs first and listen to the result, then evaluate...
