Thinking of selling...

Not been on for what must be a year.

Thinking about changing the empeg for an Ipod so my question is...

How much is a 30GB MK2a (with all std bits and box) + spare blue screen, + green screen + 2 X shonky harnesess and a spare original sled worth?

Any idea's people (in £'s please)

I'd say it's worth about 10 iPods at least - to me. Since I already have two however, a third isn't worth quite as much.

But how much you'll get is all dependent on market factors. You could try the eBay route and simply see what that market will bear.

Look in the forsale forum and also click through past eBay auctions to get a feel for the market. Most people out of the loop won't immediately "get" the empeg, so their perception may limit the amount of money they're willing to spend. You have to find the small percentage that "get it" but don't already "got it."

There's at least one up for sale for UKP right now, so use that as a guide. It's priced high, but I think fair. I sold a stock one about 2 years ago for just under CAD$1000 with a 10GB drive (new in box though).

You could probably easily sell the sled individually and the two harnesess individually as well. $100 for the sled (50 GBP?) maybe?

I don't know about the price for a 30gig player, but maybe a maximum of $350 (175 GBP?). I used to keep a close eye on this stuff, but I'm kinda forgetting it now.

No way. Just because the exchange rate has shifted doesn't mean that the GBP value of an empeg drops! The empeg should fetch more than that. Empeg pricing in the UK seemed to be higher than in the US even when the rate was about 1.00GBP=$1.50.
