The date is set incorrectly on your player. It thinks it is currently mid/late september instead of early November.

And it likely said "We're on the air in...." As from the theme song for the show, "WKRP In Cincinnati"

That's ok. The other day, my Hijack 380 told me "Happy Birthday Jack". Maybe my empeg thinks it's 1998 or something. Or does 1.03 even have a clock for HiJack to run off of? (no, that's not an actual question, just random babble).

That's weird. I remember setting the date a few weeks ago. I should setup the time-sync program. Anyone know where I can find the binary for the empeg?

The software is called ntp (network time protocol). There is a lightweight version called sntp (where s stands for simple).

Instructions and software can be found here:

Jack's birthday (according to Hijack) is December 24. Can the empeg guys confirm that's the correct date?

EDIT: Ah yes, here it is from the Geek Guide on RioCar.Org:
Quote:
The first prototype, named Jack, was completed by Christmas 1998 and worked perfectly first time...

..Issue 1 was designed before the metalwork and wouldn't fit in a box, hence "Jack". In fact in later life he spent several months in a small cardboard box labelled "Jack in his box" - but now he takes pride of place in our display cabinet.
