As i've just ordered an empeg player, I was curious about other owners af empegs in Denmark. Searching the registry, I came up with 2 hits. It this really it ?? Are we the only three in the entire Denmark with the coolest thing known to man ?

I can't check the exact figure from here, but from memory we have sold at least several players to Denmark.

And is just waiting to place my order ontil I get my new car, as I plan to finanse the empeg that way.
I wont get my new car until some time in the new year, as i'v have ordret the new Peugeot 206CC

Nice to see more than just me from dk in here. The Peugøj 206cc is nice indeed, and comes at a (for us danes) resonably price too. For the non-danes, we pay 180% tax for our cars!. I don't know if you're aware of the danish peugeot site - but chechout www.hi-speed.dk

I think we have like 21 percent or so here. Mind you there is other taxes to pay for like road tax every year etc but I assume you have those too ...

I've been corresponding with one of the empeg owners in Denmark (I'll let him identify himself here if he is so inclined) and the 180% tax isn't all of it...

To start with, there's the 25% national sales tax. Then the 180% registration tax. Then there's the fuel efficiency tax that can run another few percentages (I don't know that one). Factor in the average income tax of about 50%, and to purchase a car with a manufacturers price of $16,000 could require as much as $100,000 gross salary.

Absolutely staggering. It amazes me that there are any automobiles at all in Denmark.

And true, Norway has cheaper cars, but much more expensive food and houses. Can't win ´em all.

I meant that Norway have more expensive cars. There are people here in Norway going to Denmark, doing the 'newcar' purchase there to save up to $4000 (40000NOK), on an abit over average car. (Audi, Volvo, bigger Fords etc.)

Today the new nationalbudget was laid out. Now we're supposed to pay even more
for cars. (And probably everything else which is good for us.

Well I have whined about this in another thread before, so I'll shut up now.

Well, we actually have some of the cheapest cars, before they're tax'ed to hell, thats why germans, norwegians and swedes are all traveling to .dk and are buying their cars. Several large car manufactors are selling their cars in denmark with loss, only to sell them and get the marketshare of whatever they're after. Unfortnuatly the EC is trying to put an stop to that, because the surrounding contries car importers are complaing - understandably - so over time cars will cost the same all over europe before they're taxed. This means even more expensive cars in .dk... That sucks!

On the bright side of life, i received my Empeg yesterday!! and an gonna install it this weekend hopefully..
