Dec. 1980
"Lady" by Kenny Rogers

Ugh... The man roasts a good chicken though.

EDIT: I haven't had Kenny Rogers Roasters since they closed the New City, NY location well over 5 years ago. I just checked their store locater, and there is only 1 restaurant still operating in the entire world! They used to be pretty plentiful. I guess that guy can't run a business. As dead as Roy Roger's (the resaurant) is, it still operates more than 1 location. In fact, I just ate at Roy's on Sunday (something I tend to do whenever I pass one in my travels).

American Pie. That could've been a lot worse. The UK #1 that week was "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing".

Loren, you and SonicSnoop must have nearly the same birthday.

Either that, or that song was #1 for a while.

I was curious, and it looks like they're taking the weekly Billboard charts. So they should be close, within a week or two. For instance, it looks like Billy was on the top of the charts for the two weeks around my birthday, having knocked Paul McCartney's "Coming Up (Live at Glasgow)" off a three-week run. Then Mr Joel was toppled by "Magic" by Olivia Newton-John for about three weeks.

I actually wish this guy's charts were laid out all at once. I'd love to be able to browse through them.

He's actually 21 days older than I, so that damn song must have been number one for a while.

That one seems to have been #1 for something like 6 weeks or so.

bjoern-
That makes two of us Bad Apples then. I find that song title oddly ironic, coming from that nice Mormon family duo.

Maybe I should find it and listen to it...nah.
