Wierd synchronisation behavior - 09/10/2000 10:20

I'm trying to add a bunch of mp3s at once and I'm having trouble often.. Anything more than a few gigs at once seems to encounter wierd problems, either the empeg+computer hang, or the empeg gives me a error in stage 5 (0xffffffff) error. However, this is the newest little quirk: I was trying to do about 4 gigs and I think it got through most of them, but now the empeg is constantly cycling between idling, and rebuilding the music databases. It seems as it it keeps rebooting. The emplode software on my computer is hung, but the empeg itself is still in this reboot cycle type thing.

(About 15 minutes later) the empeg simply shut off. Any ideas?

Addendum: My empeg now locks up on the initial synchronisation.

I'm pretty sure that one of the software updates -- either 1.01 or 1.02 -- fixed this.

...except that 1.02 doesn't exist yet.

How close are we to 1.02 ? I'm running Dev 1.01rc2 and cannot get a clean sync with Emplode. Emplode starts up and connects ok ( serial or ethernet ), but after quite a while emplode hangs and the animated sync icon on the empeg display freezes. Have attached a partial log from emplode. Hence booting the empeg involves waiting a while for the "Building Database. . " to complete, however the player does start and play music.
