Chopping up WAV files

A couple of the CDs that I ripped this weekend have hidden tracks on them, where the track is overlong, and the "hidden" track is at the end.

Does anyone know of any free WAV or FLAC editing software that would allow me to chop these up?

My fervent hope is that one day, information about hidden track start/stop times will be stored in the CDDB, and that "hidden-track-aware" rippers will come out that'll automatically do that for you.
