I was thinking it'd be a neat idea to have a get-together on irc every week or so just to have a live chat, and share ideas, etc. I just want to get a general idea as to how many of you would actually come to it. Feel free to post here what time/day would be good for you too.

Just secure a channel and people will join whenever they have time.

Yup, already done (well, with only one bot on a DSL, I don't know how "secure" you'd call it, but at least it's a start). I just wanted to get a general idea if it's worth it.

I'm against this, mainly because the BBS is fast enough anyways, and I like being able to search the messages after the fact... If the discussions were to take place in chat, then they would be lost afterwards...

I had a few bots in #empeg on EFnet a year and a half ago or so, but no one ever seemed to use it, so I pulled them a few months ago.
Just so you know so you don't get disappointed. :)

I'm not against it but I wouldn't be able to support it. I have a funny timezone to the rest of (most of) you so i wouldn't hook up just for that. Others can, that's up to them.
I do like the way that any response to this board can be called up at any time in the future. This is my prefered method of communication.
anyhoo
good luck
