Kernel Panic - 31/10/2000 01:36

I am after suggestions of things to try, as my Empeg just boots to the empeg logo and sits there. Have tried reloading the consumer 1.01 image ( did have dev 1.01 ) but no joy. Note that my unit was "bg" ( Before Glue ).

RAMDISK: ext2 filesystem found at block 0
RAMDISK: Loading 320 blocks [1 disk] into ram disk... done.
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem).
empeg-pump v0.03 (19980601)
Press Ctrl-A to enter pump...VFS: Cannot open root device 03:05
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03

Sounds like your hard drive is bad or your HD cable has come loose. You should probably write to [email protected] and ask them if you can open it up and take a look at the cable. That has been a problem in the past. I thought they fixed it with glue or something.. and I've never had trouble with mine so it must be a particuliar batch of empegs.
