my config.ini is like this:
[Network]
Gateway=192.168.1.1
Netmask=255.255.255.0
IPAddress=192.168.1.11
but it is still geting the ip by dhcp... have i mis-configured?

You're supposed to plug it in via serial and then configure the network settings using Emplode.

yeah, but on my old laptop emplode can't find it, but putty and hyberterminal works...

You checked the baud rate and whether your cable has all the handshaking lines wired up?

yes, org. cable that came with the player and 115200,8N1,Off
115200,8N1,Off is what makes it run under putty and hyberterminal but NOT in emplode

anyway it is working now in emplode over network
