Should work, provided the "L5 IR dongle" is a typical 38KHz dongle. The Hijack button code stuff can do the rest.

Not willing to pay 3 day shipping for my next trip, but I think one of these will be in my future. I'll report when I get it.

Came yesterday. Programmed it this morning. I uploaded the remote to L5's "the cloud" (e.g. their remote library) tagged empeg. It needs work yet. Notably, all the buttons from the original remote were learned *except* the Play/Pause button, which basically it acted like wasn't being pressed.

When I have a few minutes I'll play further.

Got the last button programmed, and reuploaded as empeg ERC-1A. Screenshot included here.

But Peregrin, surely it's dangerous to use an Iphone as a palantir? If you stare into it, Steve Jobs stares back out at you...

Wow...I'd forgotten about palantir, although I used it back when I had a Treo. Would be cool as an iPhone app.

I think I may need to bug cushman if he's still around about empire source, and then find a palm device so I can try to get output in a form empire expects, or ship a new empire.

Boned. No IrDA. But I have another idea. Will try it out tomorrow.

Ok. Well, with fidentry, but with no irda and thus no empire, this should still be doable. I'll take a look at the L5 SDK and see what I need to do to move ahead with this.
