Hello all-

Sad news- my beloved Honda del Sol was stolen from the street in front of my house last week. The police found it a day later a few miles away, sans most everything important or worthy including my MkIIa.
It hasn't popped up on Craigslist yet (at least not here around Seattle), but I haven't been watching ebay.
At any rate, if anyone sees good old #10101466 (2x60GB, Eutronix/GreenLights Blue) around anywhere, well, I'd sure appreciate a heads-up.
The dopes who stole the car have very small brains. They took the empeg but not the mounting sleeve. They have no way to power it without some serious investigation. Maybe they'll see this thread... but I doubt it.

The car, well, it's back home again but the insurance company will want to total it and give me a salvage title. My nice 200HP motor and much more are gone. It's gonna be a tough climb to get the Sol on the road again, let alone back to where it was.

Greetings to all- sorry I'm away from the board so much these days.

Ouch, sorry to hear about both losses Stu, I know you enjoyed both the car and the empeg quite a bit. frown

Which Seattle neighborhood did this happen in?

I always take my empeg into the house in its case, but I want to know which neighborhood to be more alert in.

That sucks dude - both for the empeg, but also for the car as that was a great fun piece of kit.

Sorry to hear it.

Thanks, guys.
It's been a tough week, but I'm beginning to bounce back. I am very thankful that only material items were lost.

The neighborhood is not one that anyone should worry about. It's toward the south end of West Seattle. I think the thieves had noticed the car and were plotting their strike for a while.

For the short term, I'll just get the car back on the road as quickly as possible with the help of friends and old parts.

What, so, like, all the way down in Alki, or up on the hill?

I'm really so very sorry to hear about this. I've had my car broken into twice before, and it thoroughly sucked each time. I hate feeling like a helpless victim like that. Luckily, both times for me were before the Empeg. (I bought my first Empeg with the insurance settlement from the second theft.)

We're down near Thistle and 35th, actually. I'm not sure of the actual name for the area. The nearest that google maps shows is 'Roxhill'.

Thieves. Yes, they break personal boundaries and stir anger and resentment, but I'm looking on the bright side (or trying to). No need to fill my body with toxic thoughts of revenge (although they *feel* gratifying for short term). Well, best I can do is be thankful for what I have and take some lessons to move forward.

This gives me an opportunity to build a flash-based empeg, for one thing. I'll have to save up towards that- and another light kit. That's all in the future, though. Bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Crap, that's just five blocks away from my friend Marty's house. I'll warn him.

By the way, you should come to his next Nerdvana party. I'll see if I can get you on the invite list.
