HDD Crash - "After-Sales-Service" - 18/07/1999 18:50

Just wondering what will be the scenario for a possible hard disk crash - especially for customers ordering from overseas, like me from South Korea. Is Empeg establishing a worldwide service organization to ensure prompt after-sales-service?

Unfortunately, the unit would have to come back to us - in the US we have a service centre, but this is a special case as a large percentage of our customers are there.

On the other hand, we've not had a single hard disk (or empeg) go down on us yet, including the one used in the vibration testing detailed in one of the past newsletters - it's still in daily use. We're not worried about the hard disk being able to take the rigours of car use, 2.5" drives are really *very* rugged - and Toshiba, who supply many of our drives, are happy with this use of their products.
