Number of songs in player?

When I press the bottom button 3 times it plays all the songs in the player. If shuffle is on it shuffles them before play. The question is why is there a different number of songs reported on the "[1461/1857]" next to the time. I get this if shuffle is off. I get "[1/1751]" if shuffle is on. I am loosing some songs on the shuffle. Why?

I know this has been anwsered before...and may be in the FAQ (in not, it should). The shuffle removes duplicates. So there are 1857 unique songs (or FIDs) on your player. 106 entries in playlists are "shortcuts" to the actual mp3. Hope this helps.
