CASE?

Just wondering, what do you carry/store your EMPEG in when not in use, or out of the car? and whether there is any protection for it, i.e. hard case, padded?

Also does the empeg nylon carry bag, available from the online stores, have any protection like padding etc.?

cheers,

The empeg carry case is padded and does give a reasonable amount protection. If you are buying an empeg then you should at least buy one of the empeg carry cases for it. Some people, such as Chip, are also using hard cases. There is a smaller Pelican case that the empeg will fit into, but I think Chip chose a bigger one so he could get his power supply in it as well

It sits on my desk at work/home, plugged into the PC. I rarely use the case -- the last time I did was to take it to a party to provide some music. If I'd driven, I'd have just taken it down in the car.

I use the case from empeg. It fits perfectly.

Without the ease of use of this carry case, I can guarantee that it would sit in my vehicle, as I wouldn't want to carry the bare player around with me.

With the case, I can say that I've never left the empeg in my truck when I wasn't within eyesight of it.

Hello all

I use my empeg-provided soft case all of the time and I'm very happy with it. I use it to store the player at outdoor cafes etc. and at home while my car is parked. When I'm out and about, people have asked me what I had inside and then the demos begin....:) It also makes for a nice base for the player to sit on while I'm uploading tunes too.

The smaller Pelican case is the 1200. If you chop off the 1400 case ~1/2" in front of where the empegs panel would be in this picture you have the size of the 1200. The remote fits stuck down in the foam between the player and case wall. By experience I know you can also put a jewel CD case in it (on top of the player) or an RCA->3.5mm cable (not too long), when you cut out so that the top of the empeg is level with the top of the foam block. The middle foam block is actually ~10mm (bit less than 1/2") thicker than that, so I used one 'row' (the pre-gridded variant) thickness of the removed part of the block to pad the bottom, raising the player, otherwise the top and bottom foam part wouldn't 'grasp' the player when the case was closed.
