Empeg freezes during synch

Empeg freezes during synch - 11/01/2002 16:02

I just got my Empeg Mk2 20GB last week and I'm loving it. I'm seeing occasional problems during synchronization where the Empeg seems to be locking up. All the music is getting in, but emplode gets an error during "Restarting player" and the "synchronizing" logo on the player stops moving. It doesn't seem to respond to any of the buttons at this point. If I power cycle the player and synchronize again, everything seems to work fine - the only thing it spends any time on is rebuilding the database so I'm assuming all of the files were transferred correctly. I haven't come across any that aren't there or don't work properly. This doesn't happen every time - maybe one out of three? I'm using ethernet to do the synchronization and I'm running 2.0b7. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, it's a known bug. FITNR I believe.

2.0b7 is a beta version and has some known bugs. The one you just reported is already known about. If you want to avoid bugs, please use software version 1.03 which is very stable but has fewer features.

Congratulations on your new toy, and don't forget to read through the FAQ at www.riocar.org.

By the way, if you want to report bugs in the beta, please put them in the "bug reports" forum, thanks.

Thanks. I have read through at least parts of the FAQ and I tried to do at least a cursory search for this bug as well as asking a friend who also has an empeg. I will be more thorough in the future.

FITNR? Sorry, I'm not familiar with that one.
