"Q Factor" ? - 13/01/2002 17:42

I was playing with the EQ for the 2nd time today and I just have to mention the new EQ in the 2.0 beta is much easier than the old one.

I think I have figured out everything except I don't know what "Q Factor" is.

If someone could tell me what this is used for it would be great.

Thanks

"Q" is traditionally the resonation factor of a filter, to my knowledge. This may not be the best description, as my knowledge of this is limited to music production :P

It's in the FAQ up at rio.org BBS
But basically it is how narrow/wide on a particular frequency (and frequencies adjacent to it) that are affected by the increase/decrease in levels.
