Long time for Synchro - 16/02/2002 12:47

I have been loading my 30GB with lots of songs and lately it seems to be taking a lot of time at the "writing Player configuration" In Emplode (>5Min) This occurs regardless of whether I load songs or just plug it in and load Emplode. I am running latest beta 2.11 and win 2K pro.. Any Ideas??

Could it be config.ini growing and growing with Favorite playlist entries? Which is a known bug.
Take a look at the config.ini file and check if you've got redundant visuals listings.

Can't seem to even get emplode to run now... - 16/02/2002 13:37

Did the registry mod, emplode just hangs on the "retrieving player information" step now as you boot it up.....

Rebooted computer, ran emplode, nothing works now. - 16/02/2002 13:46

I can't even get emplode to run now, just hangs on Syncro "retrieving player info" step. Do I reinstall 2.11?

Ok, after a ten minute sync... - 16/02/2002 13:55

It was just what you guys said, I don't know about favorite visuals. Guess its time for FAQ review. trying to reboot and sync now....

Still no go, but I know what the problem is... - 16/02/2002 14:18

Grrrr... Ok I have a bazillion favorite visuals when I look at them through the Config editor that I added, I delete them using the emplode Tools: favorite visuals menu selection which takes a long time so I assume its doing this and re sync and they are all back. Do I delete them in the editor? the FAQ says use the Emplode menu to edit.

O yeah, and trying to edit the config file via the added shell will not accept keyboard input. Can I just delete the favorite visuals portion of the Config file??

How do I start over....None of this FAQ seems - 16/02/2002 15:20

to work. tried deleting config with shell, not sure what I did...can I just go back to 1.03

Problem resolved....here was my method - 16/02/2002 16:49

Please wait for Tony or someone to bless this before attempting!
I Deleted ALL the favorite visuals from both the tools:favorite visuals selection and then using the config editor here (2nd from bottom) modified the visuals section to look like:
[VisualFavourites_AM]
count=0
[VisualFavourites_AUX]
count=0
[VisualFavourites_DSP]
count=0
[VisualFavourites_FM]
count=0
It was rather obviious where the duplicates were. and I'm not sure if it was the fact that I deleted it in BOTH areas or maybe just all the monkeying I did (not a programmer here) with the shell prompt that did the trick. Whew... still learning here
