I don't see the fader in my Sound menu, is something wrong or am I missing something?

Nevermind, I guess the empeg is a little smarter than me and knows that it doesn't need the fader when its just hooked up at home

Correct.
More importantly, the fader gets locked to the correct position at home, so that stupid idiots don't set the fader all the way in the wrong direction and then call support thinking their player is broken because it quit making any sound.
(I was the one for whom the feature was implemented, you see. )
