Mk2a arriving tommorow.....Did I miss anything - 27/03/2002 18:18

Well checking the 'ol UPS web site, my new Mk2a is about 40 miles from me in the hub waiting to be delivered tommorow, so far I have.

1. Re-Ripped any CD's that are less the 192kbps to 192kbps

2. Used Tag & Rename to update all of my ID3 tags (I've been real lazy with that in the past but I completed all 17gigs worth)

3. Put on clean underware (I have extra, I might soil this pair when I open the box)

Did I miss anything?

I think it was Abe Lincoln who once said and I quote:
"Tuners will never be free until the are $100."

You forgot:

- Get the MP3 files organized into a nice clean folder structure to make the initial uploading easy.

- Print a copy of the FAQ and read it late into the night and while you wait for the delivery tomorrow.

- Decide on whether you want to do your initial uploading with 1.03 or if you want to walk on the wild side and have 2.0b11 ready. Either way, get the proper emplode installed and the .upgrade file ready.

- If you have chosen 2.0b11, make sure to put Hijack on for the Jiffies fix before you start loading tunes. But I recommend staying with 1.03 at least until your tunes are loaded.

Jees... stop printing the FAQ people, you kill a good sized forest every time you do. Think of all the little squirrels... all forced to move to the next forest and live with their mother-in-laws. Seriously... that's a ton of paper to waste. It's not going anywhere, read it online, or download it.

FAQ - 28/03/2002 04:16

Seconded - it'll all fit on one of those little floppy disk things anyway, and you can search the text quickly (as opposed to using the tired old eyeballs to go through every page)

You mean you don't have an 802.11 equipped laptop that you take into the bathroom with you?

(note that I'm only slightly ashamed to admit that I do this.)

Because I do not own a laptop, and moving the PC into my dads garage to refer to is both dangerous and cumbersome.
And besides, I've kept my copy of all the FAQs I printed in a binder (anal), so I can keep on reading it while I'm bored at work.
