JETTA Owners: got a couple of questions for you - 04/04/2002 23:56

I just bought an '02 Jetta. First, I was wondering if it's possible to remap the volume and track buttons on the steering wheel to serve some function to the Rio. The other thing I was wondering is if any of you had bought any of the custom lenses and if so, which one looked best with the Jetta's purplish dash. I know there's a lens comparison chart here but I'm looking to hear from someone who's actually seen the custom lens in their car.

if you have a tuner you can get a converter to convert the jetta controls to emulate a sony stalk remote then connect that to the tuner.

now I wanna know if I can add the steering wheel controls to my golf

I've got a '00 Jetta. Anyone know if it's possible to buy and install the newer steering wheel in an older Jetta? I like the look of it as well, so it wouldn't be just for the controls.

Try printing the following image on an overhead transparency using an inkjet printer. Then put it behind your stock blue faceplate. It's not *perfect* but it is close. Ensure that 'fit to page' is not selected, and I found that using 'HQ glossy photo paper' as the paper type gave me the best results on my Epson Stylus Color660. Using 'overhead transparency' didn't put down enough ink to be effective. YMMV.

I found that the rio made red faceplate matches the center console lights in my '00 jetta. as far as the buttons go, you can probably get an adapter that goes to the sony staulk wiring.
