Search function on player

Hi all,

I see this blinking READ THE FAQ thing. I did that already, and didn't find what I was looking for.

The current search behaviour as I know it is that whatever you select in a search automatically inserts/replaces/appends to your current playlist.

Is there a way to further refine a search beyond the initial category? For example, suppose I want to insert a particular song by an artist, but, while I can't remember the track name, I'd recognize it if I saw it. I'd like to search by artist, then get a list of tracks that I can further search through. Similarly, I might only want to listen to some classic Van Halen, so I could search by year for 1979, and get a sub-list of artists I could search through for Van Halen.

Doable? Not with any of the button press/press-holds that I could think of. Possible? Hopefully.

Sub-selecting of a search result is currently not possible.
