That would be a totally cool thing to have in the status bar of Emplode and Jemplode.

Mike S., you listening to this?

Greetings!

I agree, it would be a great status bar thing. But you can get that by going into the soup views for all tracks, artists and albums if you really wanted to. I am doing a major sync at the moment, or I would post that data... I might be back in an edit later.

Re: Player stats - 15/06/2002 16:58

For a time I was thinking about putting up a php and mysql driven site so people could upload their song info, and everyone could see what everyone else had on their lists.

I guess it just fizzelled and died however. Not enough determiniation But hey, drakino, maybe we should work on getting something similar on riocar.org ;P

Statistics
Note: I have a bunch of audio books on here, so the results may be a little skewed.

Songs: 15,463
Albums: 1,143
Artists: 374
Space Remaining: 13.1 GB of 111 GB (as reported by emplode)
Total Time: Unknown. Many of my files suffer from the lack of a XING header, and emplode incorrectly reports the duration. Suffice it to say, a long time.

Re: Player stats - 16/06/2002 08:58

He's using 2x60gb drives (the largest laptop drives currently available in reasonable quantities) - pricewatch lists the cost of a single 60gb IBM at $329 plus shipping.

HTH,

Re: Player stats - 16/06/2002 09:10

Greetings!

Actually, that's not bad. They have come down quite a bit. When I first got them, they were being sold as a Dell OEM. Someone, I forgot who, sorry..., had posted the link to Dell, and I grabbed them from there at $400 each. After the sale ended (about a week later), they went back up to the high $400s again.

Hmm... Getting close to when I can update my LabRat machine (the name of my spare)...

Re: Player stats - 16/06/2002 09:22

Heh. And here's me desperately saving for a 30gb drive to upgrade mine to 40gb

(I was nearly there when Darkstorm made me spend $90 on lenses... ah well, at least disk drives will get bigger the longer I wait, whereas lenses will get rarer the longer I wait )

Cheers,

A.

I did always have this on the back burner as a possibility for RioCar.org. Export XML, click upload, and have it added. Not sure when I might get around to it though.

Good to see you browsing the BBS again Xanatos, guess that means I can stop AIMing you with all the news from the BBS :-P

Re: Player stats - 16/06/2002 13:12

haha yeah that's true. I guess work is just becoming too boring for me and I need something to do while I wait 45 minutes for a chat to come in :P And Slashdot doesn't update the news all that much.

I may actually start working on a crude version of this today at work. I'll keep you all updated with any versions that go up.
