Empeg @ 25 - 20/07/2023 19:55

Rob Voisey is hosting Empeg's 25th anniversary meet in Cambridge UK. Date is set for September 30th 2023. Scarce on details at the moment, the event announcement is posted on Facebook and is not currently public.

I will relay more info here as it becomes available. For now, in Rob V's own words:

"Empeg's 25th anniversary meet! Side events are likely to happen the day before and after the meet, and everyone is invited to my 50th birthday party at the same venue. Details and rsvp form to follow. If you have an idea for a talk or activity please post!

I'd appreciate it if anyone active on empeg groups and forums would post the date there and update it when I have an event URL. Ta!"

Update posted to Facebook July 21, 2023:

Here's what we have set up for the meet this year. I have a marquee in the garden of a pub just outside Cambridge. It'll have lecture style seating, a podium with mic, a video projector and some tables. The plan, if it works for everyone, is to start the meet at 10am, have a buffet lunch, and do a visit to a nearby attraction during the afternoon. That could be the computing museum, the museum of technology (industrial), the nearby Anglesea Abbey or something else. Suggestions please!

Everyone is invited to my 50th birthday party and (hopefully) fireworks display which starts at 6pm at the same venue. I'll be posting accommodation options soon.

Please post if you have ideas, suggestions or requests for the meet!

See the full signup details here

Quote:
If you can come, or tentatively can come, please fill in the registration as soon as possible so I can pass on numbers to the venue.

The form also has a link for my 50th birthday party, which is happening in the evening at the same venue. You're all welcome to come along - please RSVP using the form!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

I could really use some help with creating content for the meet. If anyone is up for giving a talk or show and tell (doesn't have to be empeg related - you know what we like) or writing some or all of a quiz it would really help out. Please contact me.
