CarPlayer.com Empeg Questions - 27/01/2002 19:35

CarPlayer.com,
I see that you have the empeg cases listed as a 'option' for the purchase able empegs on your website. Does this mean that you will have these cases in stock in your store?

Also, you are showing the picture of the 'kenwood' remote and you have MK2's as the monikers for the players.. Is this the remote included with your empegs and are you selling MK2's NOT the MK2a's that SonicBlue is selling?

I also see where it states the following:

>Also available is the source code to our kernel modifications
>and some other useful routines - further information is
>available from the unofficial developer site at
>www.empeg.mars.org, kindly maintained by one of our
>clients.

>Another great source of tech information is our geek site, at
>geek.empeg.com.

Are you supporting a custom kernel modificaton for the carplayer.com "empegs' kind of like the CPM-35 that were actually SSI Neo 25's and CPM-25's were SSI Neo 35's?

I really would like a case if you have any...

That's interesting, it sounds like he bought empeg rather than a few hundred players. hehe

We needed a little humor on this board

That text is, in large part, pasted from the empeg/SB site(s).

Jeremy believed the players were Mk2 but it turns out that they're Mk2a - with full Rio badging. This info was provided by Rob in the original thread.

The case mention might just be another leftover from the pasted text. Meaning that there WAS a case available. Now they're sold out.

The case is actually the case from the Neo's, I had a few extras around, and someone mentioned it was a perfect fit. On second thought, since there were only about 10-20 extras, and the chance that it would cause massive confusion for people who thought they would be getting the official case, I decided not to add them to the order page.

The remote that ships with the player is the Rio remote, not Kenwood. There was some miscommunication from SB, our page will be updated shortly.

speaking only of the cases, I took another member's suggestion and bought a Pelican 1200 case. Its perfect for what I needed. I have two cable locks for it: one to keep the case shut and a 2nd one to lock the case to my car. This way I can somewhat comfortably leave the empeg locked up in the car when its too much of a hassle to take it with me.
