For Trade - 24/05/2002 09:42

Hello all

I am seeking someone who has purchased a spare Riocar and doesn't see themself using the remote they received with it. I am offering a trade of a still-in-packages new RF coated blue lens and spare facia for your spare Rio remote. I would like to replace the Kenwood remote I presently use without having to buy a Rio remote if possible.

Please let me know if anyone out there is interested in trading....

Thanks -

I strongly advise you buy it from here before May 31st. After the 31st the store will be closing. Please note that the store has been opened to everyone (North America included).

Hey Rob

Actually the key factor was that I didn't want to buy it really...My Kenwood works fine. I just wanted to have the features offered by the Rio remote that the Kenwood doesn't. I can't justify spending $55 US ($90 Canadian) plus shipping plus GST/PST plus brokerage fees for that convenience though. I figure that there maybe someone with a spare Rio that wouldn't mind giving the extra remote up...

£20.00 = $44.66 CAD

They don't cost $55, they cost $29 at today's exchange rate (CA$44). If you ship regular post (CA$14) I would be very surprised if you picked up duty costs.

Thanks for the conversion. I was over-inflating my conversion estimate...Last time I was in England, the exchange rate was much more than two to one.

I am concerned that the remote would end up costing me more anyway, when you factor in conversion to puny Canadian dollars, 15% tax and the brokerage fee. I am considering buying a new one before the end of the month but for now a trade is all I'm interested in...I'll wait to see what happens.

I would also consider augmenting the deal with some cash to make things even tho...

It's OK I'm not that desperate to sell them

The exchange rate is indeed about 2:1 - and the remote costs UKP20.

Canadian customs must be a bit more efficient than in the US, who never seem to charge any duty on small things sent by regular post. FedEx and TNT are a different matter, though.

Do y'all have any colored lenses left?

Nope, all sold out. Try DarkStorm (Steve) linked above.

Hmmm.......will this be the last chance to pick up a sled? With the only option after that been picking on up from someone on the BBS?
I might need a sled in two years time.......so I just wondering what my options are.
Thoughts?

Yes, it seems this is the last chance. I have a couple spare sleds myself.
