Bollocks... got my pcmcia firewire card for laptop. It sees hard drive in device manager, but how do I add stuff to the drive? I thought it would show under "my computer", but its not there. Any ideas? Its Win Me, Freecom 20GB drive.

Mmmmh... I *assume* so. But how can I go about formating it when I can't see it? Perhaps I need a software CD or something. I've been to Freecom site but they only have drivers, no software.

If it wasn't formatted in winme wouldn't it show up in my computer and ask you to format it when you try to use the drive. Winme is basically like 98 right where is doesn't have disk manager or something similar like nt does.

I would try disconnecting the drive, installing the drivers, rebooting, and connecting it again. If you can't access it then, whether it be to copy files or format it, then something is really wrong.

Figured it out - finally! I had to manually set up drive letters etc in control panel to get it to show up, then restart computer and then format. I'd stupidley assumed this would have happened automatically! Oh well. Thanks for the input.
